Last summer we found a green tree frog hopping across a baseball field. Somehow we ended up keeping it and naming it Jeeter (after Derek Jeter) since we found it on a bb field during a game. I think she is female, anyway, she has been great. She eats well and everything. We have her in a half water environment, I feed her in a separate area (as the store told me to) so there wont be dead crickets in her enclosure. They told me to put moss over rocks for a soft area for her, which I did. I wipe it down every night, while she is eating, and spray it with warm water. Like I said she has been great until now. I went away for a week, but my son who had helped with her all year, took care of her. When I got back, she didn't seem to want us to catch her and put her in the feeding area, once I caught her, she ate a LOT of crickets, baby ones, of course. then when I tried to put her back she usually jumps back into our hands, this time she didn't want to be caught. once I got her, and put her back she went limp, her front legs folded across her chest and the back ones stretched out, unmoving. I thought she was dead, scared me to death. My husband picked her up gently and blew on her (laying on her back in his open palm, and she started to move. After that she acted fine, for a couple of days but then last night she did it again. Is this stress or something more? We don't over handle her, but it worries me, because she had been doing so well.
