Welcome to Frog Forum, John. Seems like a great project.
Good luck, I'll be reading about it surely.

I've been meaning to post for awhile, and my schedule has just cleared up (meaning my last job just ended) so here I am. I've kept lots of different herps over the years, now I'm more into conservation and habitat restoration. I am on the lookout for a few things however, specifically either species of gray treefrog (hyla versicolor or h. chrysoscelis). I currently live in an area of north Texas where I should be seeing them, but never have. I hope to collect a few and breed them, then (re)introduce the tads or froglets into one or two suitable areas, and see if they take. Any feedback or help with this project would be welcome. I am also a huge box turtle fan, and have a few hatchlings that I'm raising.

Welcome to the forum John. Could you please post your nationality in your user profile. You might want to also check with your local Dept of Fish and Game to make sure it is legal to release captive bred animals in the wild. Most places its not legal to do even if they were originally indigenous.
Hmmm. Good point about state/local laws regarding reintroductions. With chytrid & other hazards we have even more reasons to be careful. I'm pretty sure it's ok to reintroduce native anurans to the creek in my own back yard. However I will check regarding the nearby park.
