Crickets

I have been feeding the bullfrogs fish and crawfish for the past month... and a few crikets here and there... but to this date have never seen them eat... the food just keeps disapearing.

Well last night I put in 16 crickets.. it has been a few weeks since they have had them... and within moments the big bullfrog leaped out of the water and grabbed one that was on the edge of the grass next to the pool. He then hit about 6 more as they would get near the edge of the water... it was amazing to watch. Speedie came out of her cave and nabbed a few but so fast it was hard to see. there was the cricket then it was gone.

I know they have been eating the fish and crawfish because they disapear every week... I wonder if they like crickets better to have eating in front of me. I had stopped giving crickets to them as food when someone said they were not the best food sorce. well it was very much fun to watch them pick the crickets off one at a time.

Crickets are fine. They have be better than crayfish bowel-wise. Their exoskeletons are not nearly as thick as the crayfish's.

also its better if you gut load the crickets. They sell commercial gut-loading stuff at chain pet stores
