Tank redesign and toadies

I redid my firebelly toad tank, and I finally got some photos of the tank and the frogs to [mostly] come out. For some reason, they don't like to photograph. Well, without further ado:

The tank!


Branch is on the dirt, and Leafy is in the pond.


The photo is blurry, but here's all five hanging out together! Branch and Leafy are in the same spots, Shroom is behind Leafy, Bark is the brown one, and Roots is the one on the far right.

Please forgive me but nevertheless:another fine if not excellent example of an absolutely poor design and unfit Bombina-habitat. Advice? You definitely shouldn't use
these kinds of loose soil for Bombina to live on. A waterbowl is not enough: change
the land-part into water some 5 inches deep, the waterbowl-part with non-polluting material into land. Not sure what kind of lamp is used but Bombina need alot of light, no heat. The set-up seems to be well ventilated.

They've been on the dirt for over a year. I tried them on gravel, but they hated it. The reason I did the set up like that was because when they were in a mostly water - part land set up, they spent all their time on the land. Even now, they spend most of their time hanging out on the bridge or in the plants. There are actually two ponds in there, the second is just shaded over by the plants so its hard to see in the photo. It is directly in front of the pot cave, so when they want to rest in the cave they won't be too far from water. I also clean them daily, so they stay pretty. The light is one of those day light bulbs - it produces a small amount of heat, but mostly just lights up nicely.

Edit: I meant to say three ponds, not two.

I like it, simple but effective, how long does it take that many toads to get the water filthy? Mine always carried so much soil in with them i ended up coving most the ground with live moss.

I really do like how different your FBT's all are - people think im mad for being able to tell mine apart. Leafy's markings are beautiful.

Thank you Mushrooms. Yeah, I can tell all of mine apart very easily. I tell people its like those parents who can tell the difference between their identical twins - when you're around your babies enough, you can see differences.

Oh, and I clean the water daily. It actually could go every two days before getting dirty, but I like to get a jump on it. Plus, that means if I forget a day, or go out of town its not as big of a deal.
