    Default Pronouncing Binomial nomenclature

Does anyone else struggle to properly pronounce Binomial nomenclature, ie Agalychnis callidryas of our little buddies? Would a section on the forum dedicated to how to do this properly with an actual audio example be usefully?

Just putting this out for comments!

HA! It was a cry for help as I can't say any of them. If I could pronounce them properly I might just do it. The one thing that should be done is let one person do the audio so people have a basic voice to work from.

Yeah I can pronounce them, no problem. Zip Code Zoo gives you the pronunciations. http://zipcodezoo.com/Animals/A/Agalychnis_callidryas/

Honestly, most people differ in their pronunciations as well. A lot of it has to do with personal preference and education. Very often I encounter people who say scientific names completely different than I do, but I suppose as long as the point comes across it doesn't really matter. I guess the most accurate pronunciation would be based on Latin, although many of the names only include partial Latin roots or endings. Pronounce it however you like, and say it proud, I truthfully believe there is no wrong way to pronounce them.

I saw the little speaker icons but nothing worked as far as actually hearing the names being spoken.
