I need to know if crans and ornates will willingly successfully mate. And at what age or size are they able to start?
Yes they can. It was done years ago. The offspring of this cross tend to be hard to distinguish.
they're all hard to distinguish, and I bet they're bred all the time because of it. I truly do not know the difference. Are ornates generally more colorful? they don't seem to have much different shape that my crans. also are crans every any other colors than brown, green, or albino? Lastly are they totaly willing to cross breed, or is that more of a lab thing?
It maybe hard for you, but I find it very easy. The people who breed the majority of horned frogs don't cross ornates and cranwell's anymore. Ornates are more colorful than cranwell's generally speaking. They also grow larger than cranwelli and tend to have better feeding responses. But the most definitive way to easily identify the two species is to look for a spot on the back of each eye. Ornates have them while cranwell's don't. Lastly it's hard to say how willing they are to breed since (I would estimate that) about 90% of the pacmans in the U.S.(or more) are produced in lab type facilities. With the majority of those bred with hormone injections. With hormone injections I'm sure you could get a pacman to hump anything you want it to.
I need some of that hormone injection ****! It would be great to see Mr. ***** go at it with my neighbor's cat! I wonder If he would hump it or eat it? Either way, no more cat turds in the dryer.
