Toadstool finally came out for a decent photo session for once, so I thought I would post a couple.
First, a full shot of his tank. I ran out of "o"s, so his name isn't spelled right atm, but I'll grab some more stickers next time I'm at the craft store and fix that.
Him being his cute self:
And a photo of his coloration. He has almost no green on him at all, which I find interesting.
There's my Toadstool! I hope y'all like him.![]()
Hey Artes,
Thanks for sharing the pictures! Toadstool is a big guy!
~Lesley
He's certainly getting there. He was about the size of a nickel when I bought him many months ago. He's my awesome grumpy old man.
Good looking frog.Haha, I love the way pacmans can be so cute even while sitting half-buried in dirt and looking personally offended by your presence.
Whats up? I'm from Bama too. So did you buy him at a local pet store or a breeder? Any way, nice frog!![]()
Toadstool emerges!
Such a cute, fat Pacman Frog! I have always wondered what he looked like! Was he "hibernating", or does he just like to burrow/hide? Great to see him finally LOL.![]()
Toadstool is often offended by my presence, lol. He's right by my computer desk!
I'm from North Alabama. I got him at Pet Co actually. I had been reading about pacman frogs for a bit, thinking about how cute they were, and then I found Toadstool. My eyes turned into little hearts, and I brought him home that day.
He likes to burrow. I did a bottom of those clay hydro ball things (so he wouldn't burn himself on the UTH), and then several inches of dirt. His favorite thing to do is only cover the back half of his body, like he's in a sleeping bag. He's really hard to get a good photograph of due to his burrowing joy - it seems like he always knows when a camera is coming.
LOL, Toadstool is a beautiful Pacman Frog. It looks like perhaps either he is a brown Pacman Frog (which is actually a coloration, but less common than green), or he is a "browned" green Pacman Frogs. Green Pacman Frogs eventually loose their bright green color. Sometimes adults are dark green, and sometimes they are brown with a tad of green.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think your Pacman Frog is C.cranwelli also. Is still wouldn't mind having Toadstool in the article if you were interested, though.![]()
He still has a couple of spots of green left, but I mean literally a couple. He had more green when I brought him home.
I figured he probably was the cranwelli, but I wasn't sure. If you need his photo, go right ahead! If you don't, I will not be heartbroken. Though Toadstool might hunt you down.
Every time I get a baby pac that is green, they eventualy fade to brown or have a some what faint green to them. The only green adult that I had ever seen in person was absolutely amazing. His color between the spots was a deep olive green that seemed like metalflake paint. The deep redish brown spots were the same way. I was ready to buy him no matter what. Then the dealer said he was $550. What sucks is he was in a poor environment.![]()
