Is it a full moon or are all my frogs plotting while I'm away.
Since mid last week, one of my Whites has decided to parade around the viv, covering all the glass with substrate, and cover the others as he tries to climb over them to push off the top screen.
Now tonight, my one Red Eye has found he too wants to go back and forth across the glass all night. He even slept on the front glass which has been a first since I brought him home last year. Also pick up the lets climb to the top and test the screen strength.
We named the one Whites Spidy since he has routinely done this behavior, sometimes jumping from a leaf to the glass with a loud thump or crash if he misses. He will stand on his legs on a Borm and push the top screen with all him might and eventually move off the brom and fall or give up and dive for another position to try again.
I wonder if they see themself in the reflector in the T5 fixture that just above them.
Hmmmm. looks like its gonna me a loud night here :-)
Gotta put ear plugs on my wife before they wake her up.
Wish me luck with that.

Mine go through that periodically, I wonder if it has to do the changes in barometric pressure and other weather phenomena that change with the seasons.

Well, all the frogs are restless here tonight. All four Whites are climbing every piece of glass and occassionally trying to push the top off or stacking on eash other until one falls and takes the rest out.
The Red Eyes also have been talking most of the evening.
It has to be due to the weather.

You need a barometer. I have a really cool one, all blown glass. And then chart it.
They're probably missing their old viv though too. As that had soo much space.
I know, I know When I do the frog rack I'll think about moving them back into enclosure.
They are usually so chill except for Spidy. They all think they are Spidy tonight though. I'll be listening to falling, croaking, chirping frogs all night tonight..... I'll be laughing and smiling all night.

Yeah mine do that occasionally too. I used to think they were predicting earth quakes....but the earth quakes never came. Then when we finally had a pretty decent trembler I was in the room with them and looked at them as the house was shaking....they kept on sleeping...they didn't even peel an eye lid. So that myth is debunked.
The Whites climbed all over the glass, ripped up most of the leaf liter, and were totally covered in substrate by the time I woke up this morning.
Now they will expect me to do the house cleaning? Stinkers!
I tried to video this and hope to soon put an edited version up since they are too funny.

I just love your White's Don, they're so amazing. XD Bruce C. will get up most nights and climb around the front of the viv, as if he's looking for a way out or a friend. Bruce Wayne used to do that but for the past few weeks he's settled, just kinda sits and watches. I love hearing the thump and looking up to see Bruce C. on the front glass.
What a joy they are to have, really. XD I can't wait to see them in the big tank. >>

Well, it finally happened, Spidy had his big adventure last night.
No idea how they got the hook out of the lock but they did, and two of my Whites have headed out on a big adventure.
I awoke to finding the Whites door wide open and the hook which keeps the door shut was missing (never found it either). I did a quick frog count and two were MIA. As I looked around the room, I could see where they had been since there was lint from many hidden spots in the room pulled out everywhere.
I followed the lint trail and they visited my granddaughters room, the bathroom, then a nice lint trail down the steps to the livingroom.
They also visited the spare bedroom down on the 1st level and even the kitchen.
I decided to not panic and made a pot of coffee. As I turned to head back to the livingroom, there was Spidy, sitting by the TV all covered in lint just waiting for me to pick him up. He sure looked pittyful as I escorted him to the viv and put him in the water dish. I removed him and the water dish and gave him a good rinsing.
After putting him back into the viv, he has spent most of the morning soaking.
I'm on the search this morning for the other MIA frog and hopefully find him soon. If hes outside my bedroom he'll be fine since its going to be a hot humid day here.
I'm really hoping hes not astray in my bedroom since I have the AC up to keep the vivs cooler today.
Wish the little missing on luck :-(

Wahoo! My wife decided to pull out a CD she had or rain forrect sounds and turned it up to a nice moderate level.
She sat back on the couch and was checking out her facebook friends and soon after, out came the MIA frog.
We are so relieved. The frog needed a big tubby and still has some dirty looking eyes. I He was really dark and now has his color coming back as hes soaking in the water dish and back in the viv.

That is good news. I'm sure their adventure around the house will be the talk of the vivarium tonight!!
