Hi ! New to the Forum, with a toad question !

Hey all, pleased to meet everyone here !

This is my first time posting here as I have said. I would like to know if you guys could please give me any advice on what to feed a young common toad (I'd say about one year old, as it has not grown any where near full size, although it is not a tiny toadlet either! It's about 1.5" long)
Usually I feed my large adult toads meal worms, crickets and any earth worms I can buy / find. However, this is my first time caring for a young one. I'm scared to feed the little guy a full sized cricket or meal worm as I think they'd hurt it / overpower it. I know that worms can sometimes prove a hard meal for toads too, so could you please give me any suggestions on what I can feed him ? Thanks !

I would feed it small crickets mabye dust them with some nutrients

You could feed him 3/8'' crickets (basically 2-3 weeks old). It should be safe for your toad. Rule of thumb for cricket sizes: chose a cricket size that is no bigger than the width of the frog/toads head (thank you Jo-Anna).

Thanks for the warm welcome ! The advice I've got here helped a lot anyway. I've now bought some little pinhead crickets for the toad (which he has started eating !) I also found that it loves to eat black ants. I had no idea that ants were a part of their natural diet, even though it was kinda obvious . I'll try and get some photos of the toad in its setup, as he is a charming little thing.
