My first terrarium

I am soon going to fit out a terrarium for dendrobates. The length will make 69.5cm, the width will make 33cm, and the height 80cm.
At the bottom of was in hiding, will be arranged a bed of ball of clay, 5 has 6cm of thickness. Then a piece of tablecloth géotextile, and finally some peat.
On 3 windows of the terrarium, I would stick of the xaxim, some pieces of branches of mangrove swamp.
I would make a decoration has foam base polyuréthane, covered with special glue (Soudal fix all hight tack) to which I would apply some peat.
There will be also a small waterfall, broméliacées, Orchids, the other plants of the Amazonia ….

The brumisation will be assured by a pump high pressure with buzzards. Connected on a timer in the second.
The lighting, a kit of PL 2X55W 6500°K.
The heating, an immersion heater.

For frogs it will be surement either a couple of Oophaga pumilio with a couple of Auratus or Leucoméla, or a couple of Rani and Auratus or Leucoméla

begin toward the end in June. I would put photos of the progress of the works.

Je vais bientôt aménager un terrarium pour des dendrobates. La longueur fera 69.5cm, la largeur fera 33cm, et la hauteur 80cm.
Dans le fond du terra, sera disposé un lit de bille d’argile, 5 a 6cm d’épaisseur. Puis un morceau de nappe géotextile, et enfin de la tourbe.

Sur les 3 vitres du terrarium, je collerais du xaxim, quelques morceaux de branches de mangrove.
Je ferais une décoration a base de mousse polyuréthane, recouvert de colle spéciale (Soudal fix all hight tack) sur laquelle j’appliquerais de la tourbe.

Il y aura aussi une petite cascade, des broméliacées, Orchidées, d’autres plantes de l’Amazonie……….

La brumisation sera assurée par une pompe haute pression avec des buses. Branché sur un minuteur Ã* la seconde.
L’éclairage, un kit de PL 2X55W 6500°K.
Le chauffage, un thermoplongeur.

Pour les grenouilles ce sera surement soit un couple d’Oophaga pumilio avec un couple d’Auratus ou Leucoméla, soit un couple de Rani et d’Auratus ou Leucoméla ;

Je commence vers la fin juin. Je mettrais des photos de l’avancement des travaux.

Greg, this sounds like a great project. And a great choice of frogs, especially the pums, but that is a my own personal taste.

Do you already own frogs? Reason I'm asking is that mixing species is not recommended. Granted, pums/thumbnails and auratus/leucs are different sizes and there's no chance of hybridization... I've seen this sort of species cohabitation in certain breeders, but in much much larger vivariums to prevent stress and to make sure all species were had a perfect environment for them (climbing space for thumbs and pums and very large terrestrial space for auratus and leucs). But in general, we advise against mixing species together...

In fact I want to put a small species (rani or pumi) with a big species (Leuco or auratus).
As the terrarium will be top, I thought that it was good.
Anyway, it is going to need to leave it was in hiding to mature, before introducing frogs.

En fait je veux mettre une petite espèce (rani ou pumi) avec une grosse espèce (Leuco ou auratus).
Comme le terrarium sera assé haut, je pensais que c’était bon.
De toute façon, il va falloir laisser le terra mûrir, avant d’introduire les grenouilles.
