When I went to feed Linus the PCF this morning, I noticed a thick pink mass hanging out of her mouth. I nudged her and startled her and she hopped all over the tank with the mass sticking out. I assume it was her tongue.
I ran off to get my camera for a pic and was already composing this post in my head, but when I came back to the tank 2 min later, the tongue was gone and she looked and acted perfectly normal. See pics below 2 min after the incident.
Otherwise, I noticed that just in the last couple days she pooped out a few barely-digested crickets, not her usual well-processed brown turd. She does eat, however, and always looks pretty plump. She's 1.5 inches long now and temp is around 60-70, with a warmer spot near the light on top.
Is something up with Linus? Do I need to worry??
also, she has changed color a bit from when she was little. She used to be all solid green, and now she has beautiful gray speckling on the back and legs, and her green color has taken on a more bluish hue.
I assume that's all part of growing up, or is it?
The pic below shows her at 3/4 inch; compare to second pic which is at 1.5 inches long.
As far as I know frogs cant prolapse their tongue, it being attached near the front of their mouths. Are you sure they hadnt tried catching something they didnt like or spat out so they stuck out their tongue?
