Do Green and Golden Bell frogs need lighting/heating?
Do they need UVA UVB or a light of any kind and do they need a heat mat?

Hi Luke. I just use normal lighting. They are in room temp. No UV lighting or heat mats needed for my guys. But my frogs go into hibernation in the winter as I move them into an unheated room.

Thanks Ebony at what months will they hibernate because I don't want to disturb them when they're sleeping and do they need anything special when hibernating? Also when frogs sleep do they push thier eyes down like when they're eating?

It really depends on the weather. My guys are still eating but I have noticed they are not as hungry. I will be shifting them into an unheated room in a couple of weeks. I just feed them until they stop eating altogether. With Green and Golden Bell Frogs they dont bury down into substrate like a lot of frogs do. They just sit where they are happy to sit, whether it be up high or under something. They dont actually sink in there eyes when hibernating..they just sort of have a glaze over them or a thin clear skin.

I think my frogs may be starting to hibernate. I've just left them in my bedroom as it's unheated. Jabba and Tim Tam haven't moved for about 2 days and I accidently knocked Camo off the glass this morning when I wiped the glass I didn't see Camo but Camo has climbed back up the glass. Camo and Jabba are high up and Tim Tam is hiding under the big branch I put in. Sorry for the poor photo of Jabba I can't clean the glass as it's in the corner right next to Jabba and I didn't want to disturb her (I think all of them are female)

Bummer don't you just hate it when you have to wait for something you want.

Camo has decided to move to the other side of the tank above Jabba.
