I have a dumpy tree frog, I've had him since Nov of last yr, he's still a juvie about 2 1/2 inches now. I was told to feed him every day since he's a baby. I did that for a while but by Jan he didn't seem so interested in eatign daily so I went to every other day. Every other day works for quite a while and he would gobble down the crickets liek crazy. Now when I feed him every other day he eats like one med cricket and thats it, and he's totally excuted to eat he just only wants one. Other then this he's fine, hes active and calling crazy loud at night and such. Perfectly fine other then that. What should I do feed him maybe every 3rd day instead of every other day? Oh and I do feed him in a seperate container so i know for sure there isn't any crickets he's finding when I'm not looking in his cage.
Thanks![]()
I would go with every third day, and maybe do every second day once in a while to make sure he isn't going hungry.
I feed my fat adult White's, who's 3 1/2 inches now, 1 or 2 large crickets every three days, but he's on a diet for his weight and I'm trying to slim him down. Pictures of your frog would help, weight is a big determining factor in feeding tree frogs. O:

Thanks everyone. I went a head and tried giving him food on the 3rd day, he was still only interested in one cricket. But like I said other then this sudden last of interest in as much feed and he was eating he's fine.
Here is a recent pic of Kiwi, when I got him back in Nov he was the size of a US quarter.
This one might be a better one to show his size, about the size of one of my sons hot wheels cars. LOL

Aly,
What a Cutie!![]()
He looks very healthy and plump to me. Do you feed him anything else other than crickets?
He might be getting a bit bored and want a variety. You could occasionally try some waxworms for a "treat" since they are high in fat you wouldn't want to offer them often, or even a nice juicy redworm, and see how he responds to them.

Thanks Lesley!I think he's a total cutie myself of course!
I have tried other things and he isn't interested in anything other then crickets. I fed him yesterday and he ate one cricket, and then today while I was spot cleaning his habitat and changing the water out I decided to offer him a couple crickets and he ate one of the two. So I'm thinking he's fine.
