Thanks everyone!
They're both sleeping and he's dark green still, but it's still early lol. I may move him closer to the window so he knows it's day time and to sleep.
And update on Orchid, I saw her eating last night and stalking prey. I've only seen her eat once before since I got her, but crickets keep dissapearing so I'm sure she's been eating. I think she is settling in well.
cute!! I love red eyes, they're so interesting to watch.
I saw my girl eat for the first time last night as well, it was insane, she dove right off a branch and slammed a cricket, then proceeded to eat the other three I threw in, leaving absolutely none for poor Magnus. pfff. Fat frog.
Good luck with yours! Gonna try breeding them eventually?
Haha that's cute.
I'd like to try to breed them someday, I'm not in a rush though. They have to mature (if they are not already) so I know 100% what sexes I have (even though I call one her and the other him). And I need to learn more on breeding before I just go ahead and do it lol.
Congrats! The "native" treefrogs you said they had with the red eye would be gray treefrogs, they are the only ones native to Canada. The picture you said that resembled them is an Asian or African species.
Thanks Zach. I typed in Canadian tree frog and couldn't find any gray frog pictures :/ That was the closest I could find lol.
I watched Haiku eat last night, it was so cute! He's great for not being shy and hunting down his crickets =) I've seen Orchid eat twice now, but I also don't sit and watch them all night lol. She goes down on her big leaf plant to stalk the crickets. I can't tell if she's gained any weight yet but my bf Chris thinks she is a little.
It'll be neat once I can put them together! I'm pretty sure both are disease free, but I'm going to wait a few weeks anyways since that is what's reccomended.
When I do introduce them, is it best to show them to each other through the glass first or something? Rather than to just plop them right in? When I do put him in, I should maybe put him on the opposite side of the tank?
I have a pile of Gray treefrogs in my albums, as well as some Spring peepers which are treefrogish at least. Peepers can be brownish but are decidedly tiny (4cm max or so for an adult).
Have you looked at any pics of Pacific treefrogs, Psuedacris regilla? They can be brown?
I've never seen a gray treefrog come close to being brown like her example. We have chorus frogs, like the Pacific treefrog, Psuedacris regilla, which I think used to be Hyla regilla. Which brings the question of what do you call a treefrog, and also what will a petstore call a treefrog

Grays are highy variable, I've seen brown, green, white, gray. some that are even almost black. Yea the pacific treefrog was reclassified as a chorus frog. When I said that I meant "true" treefrogs of the genus Hyla, Canada also has spring peepers and chorus frogs. I doubt a pet store would have any Psuedacris, they would be too small.
