    Default Milk frog appetite decrease?

I have noticed my adult male milk frog is taking less crickets recently (all other behaviour is normal), Do you think it could be because he is now fully grown? Or could it be because he is breeding mode?

    Thanks for your time.

It could be either because he is sick of crickets or more likely, he is ill. Try switching the diet up a bit with other feeder insects. If responds the same way as he has for crickets, then its off to the vet.

I was told thier feeding slows with adulthood. but it also could be an illness as kurt had mentioned

I took him to the vets yesterday and the vet checked him over well and has put him on a 7 day course of antibiotics.
He has refused to take a cricket, wax worm or hopper but is still very active at night and is now sleeping more in the day time.

I really hope the little guy gets better soon.

    Hereces,

I'm glad to hear you took him to the vet. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in and he gets his normal appetite back. Let us know how he's doing.

    Take care.

Day 4 of the antibiotics and he still hasn't eaten, He's starting to look a little on the thin side now too.
Tonight I've placed him in a small tub with a couple of 3rd instar crickets to try and get him to take one.

Day 5 of antibiotics and still no improvement.
I don't see any signs of impaction and neither did the vet.
I've also started giving him a little Panacur and will continue to do so for 10 days just in case.
I hope he picks up soon.

Today was the last day of the antibiotics and I am pleased to say the little guy passed a poo some time last night and he hasn't been in over a week, I dissected the poo (yuk) and found a very small hard lump, Maybe it could be impaction?
He hasn't eaten yet but Hopefully will soon.

Well I figured out the little guys problem........He only likes BLACK crickets!!!!!
I can't believe it was that simple.

He is now eating and pooing normally once again, I'm so relieved.

I now have one that will only eat black crickets, One that only eats hoppers and baby that will eat anything that moves.

Frogs are like very young kids, only less noisy.
