    Default Plants

I hope I'm posting this in the right spot, if not sorry.

Anyway I'm wondering where everyone gets their live plants from. Only one pet store in town sells them and they don't look very good. I figure they need to come from somewhere like a pet store to know their safe? Where can I get them from and how do I know if the plant/s are safe? Is there a list somewhere of safe plants?

    Thanks

    Hi Aly,

One of our members' popular place to buy plants is Black Jungle: Welcome to Black Jungle Terrarium Supply - The Natural Choice!

They do ship and you will get quality plants there.

Other members like Josh's Frogs: Josh's Frogs- Live Terrarium Plants

Black Jungle list the selections by Frog type on their website. I think Josh's will too.

1.1.1 Bumblebee Dart Frog - Dendrobates leucomelas
1.1.0 Dendrobates truncatus - Yellow Striped
1.1.1 Dendrobates tinctorius – Bakhuis Mountain
    1.1.0 - Dendrobates tinctorius - Powder Blue
    1.1.0 - Ranitomeya vanzolinii

Thanks so much both of you, those sites look great. But how do I know what is safe for which frog, or are they all pretty safe? I'm new at the live habitat thing. I currently have 1 chubby frog (I know I have to use pots with him cause he'll dig the plants up if not), 1 dumpy tree frog, 1 cane toad (although he's not doing so good ), and I may be adding a tomato frog.

Also can someone answer a couple more question?
So by creating a living habitat its like creating its own eco systems right? What kind of clean up do I need to do? Do I change out the substrate completely and if so how often? Does anyone have any tips, sites, anything that will talk me through this more?

    Thanks again
