Hi, my mealworms go to larva and just turn black and die. They never hatch into the darkling beetles? I keep them in a separate dish in the same area(temp,lighting,etc) that I keep my meal worms and the do fine. does anyone have any idea why they don't hatch into beetles? both times I had larva they shriveled up and turned black. the humidity is what ever is in the house.i keep them in a semi dark place.It is summertime here in CT, but the AC is usually on. no problems with the mealworms live fine and grow big. can not figure out what is wrong. supposedly mealworms need no food or water during larva stage? how could the die?

Any suggestions?
