Hi Everyone!
My current frog frenzy started off with a rescue from my local 'Petstupid' place. One of the employees told me he had just caught a frog in the back room that had been lose for 3 months and he didn't know what to do with it. I've kept reptiles for years, but had never done the frog thing, but they knew me pretty well and ended up just letting me take it home. Next thing I knew, I was the proud owner of a Golden Tree Frog (Polypedates leucomystax) which you can see in my avatar. She had been living among the piping system for all the aquariums, so I named her Piper (only assuming female because she doesn't call very much).
After much research, I decided to try Red Eyes, and ended up with a breeding group of 4.1 which I have been keeping in my planted 55g.
They haven't bred for me yet, but I've heard lots of calling, etc.
My true loves in the frog world have to be the reed frog family though. I've currently got one starry night reed, one golden reed, and one green glass reed. I'd love to get more, but they're kinda hard to find!
also, I just picked up a pair of amazon milks, and a pair of vietnamese mossys - very cool frogs! I know I have much much more to learn and am looking forward to chatting with you all about our froggy friends. and thanks for such a great forum!
BTW, I'll be able to post pictures of everyone when I get home from work. Also going to a show this weekend, so hopefully I'll have some more new guys to show off.
thanks! talk to you soon!
