    Default Hello and please help!

Hi There and wow what a great site!

I have a serious issue with one of my green tree frogs where it has a bad burn on its back from getting in between the heat lamp and the protective cover.

It has been pretty quite for 2 - 3 days now but I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help him?

If there is anyone out there with any experience with this help would be apprecaited I have had him for 9 years now so we are quite close and I would hate to loose him.

    Becca,
Don't have experience with this, BUT, I have that a bath made up of 1 x cup tepid (luke warm water) and 1 x teaspoon of honey added and disolved in it may help a sick frog. The frog should sit in this bath for 20 minutes at a time. I can't see the harm in trying this as honey is in anycase knowm for it's healing abilities. My advice till some of the more clever peeps come along.

Ya you can do the honey, this will help him deal with the pain. But I'm pretty sure you can let him soak in there as long as he wants. I don't think you should handle him unessisarily unless u have to dig to get him out of your viv.

Go get neosporin original, no plus, no pain releif, this will kill him. Apply with Qtip once a day until it starts to scab over. You don't want an open wound. Dry up his viv a little to. Like 55% percent humidity, until this wound is cleared up.
I've seen some pretty bad burns on here, and they've healed up and just left a little fat fold fir a scar. Good luck, keep in touch

Thank you so much this really helps. I was pleased last night as I was able to hand feed him a moth so at least I know he has eaten (all be it only a small amount but something) I also washed his back with a sterilsed water soltion to help keep away any infections but I will try the honey advice and let you know how we get on.

Once again thank you and I will be sure to stay in touch and keep you updated on his recovery
