Your frogs seem very used to be handled. I'm a little confused are you asking if you can put pebbles on the bottom of the whole tank or just the water area? If it's in the water area it should be fine.

just the water area btw: he has been avery mellow frog ever since i got him hes never snapped at me are anything!
