Western Toads / Bufo Boreas

Hey there. I'm new to the forum.

I am looking to obtain Western Toads to raise / breed. My yard is circled by a high wall so there is very little chance of escape or predation. I have scoured the internet trying to buy these but I can only find Eastern Toads which obviously are NOT indiginous to California.

Any suggestions? Please help.

Hello!! I cared for Western Toads for years!! Just so you know they are an adapt burrower, so unless your footings in your wall are deep, there is a chance they will get out. It also depends on what type of soil you have as well. As far as getting them, well I am stumped on how to get them legally. I am not sure if they are legal to collect and export into California. I have them in my garden in th spring and summer months.
