I tried feeding Orchid a wax worm last night, dangled it right in her face, but she just kept jumping away. I figured maybe she wasn't hungry, so I put it and a couple crickets in a bowl for the night. She didn't eat anything. I've only seen her eat one cricket since I've had her a week ago today. I can't tell how much she has eaten because crickets occasionally got out of her old tank. Do you think she's still just settling in? Last night was her first night in her new tank as well, which she seems to like. She was sitting on the big leaf plant and this morning was sleeping near the top on the glass. Thanks.
My red eyes show no interest in waxworms. I wouldn't worry too much about not seeing her eat, as long as crickets are turning to feces and she maintains her body weight you have nothing to worry about. I have noticed that my females tend to be a bit less active and shyer feeders than the males.
She could still be adjusting to her new tank. Cheri told me that when she traded her Red Eye to a bigger tank he didn't seem to even move or eat for a month, but she treated him as normal and he eventually came around.
It's safe to try the wax worms once a night until you see her eat one, but if she starts eating crickets and is still uninterested, save it for a few days and try it again later. She may just not be interested in them because they're slow moving.
I have a pair of Phyllomedusa tomopterna and the female does seem less active than the male as well, but she came around after a week or two of settling and began to climb and explore the viv on her own. Just give Orchid time, she's probably very confused and needs to settle in. Just try to keep her in a quiet and calm and environment, and maybe lay off the photo shoots for just a little while until she comes around. ^ ^

K thanks guys! I assume she is still settling in, not sure if she'll ever eat the worms or not but I'll keep trying every night, but not leave them in the bowl, just a couple crickets.
I am really glad I did get the very large tank for her though!
In my experience red-eyes have no interest in waxworms or mealworms. However I have cultured my own waxworms which were higher quality and more active than the ones you buy. Those they were interested in.
Interesting. Again last night she didn't care about them.
