So yesterday was tank cleaning day in our house. I cleaned and rearranged the FBT's tank/viv, I put them back in and I was looking at it and decided a bit later that I wasn't happy with how i had it set up (I hate it when I do that...as I'm sure they do too...lol). I took them back out, rearranged it again (I'm still not completely happy with it but at least it's easier to clean the filter now) and put them back in. Now they are hiding and I haven't seen any of them outThey either have to get use to the new lay out or they are pissed and hate it...lol.
They're just afraid you'll do it again.![]()
They probably aren't keen on the Feng Shui![]()
Actually, they took the train and are now with me.
They will need time to adjust each time you will change their enclosure. And if you handle them each time, they will also hide. Give them a few days. Again.
Lol...too funny. They very well could of "hopped"a train and went to your place...I haven't seen much of them for a couple of days
I hope they come back out soon.
I could not get my FBs to come out of hiding in a very nice tank with one of the foam logs (with small pump) a pot with rocks and pothos and an big area of open water. Someone gave me a vine of aquatic plant ???? and immediately after I floated it in the water the frogs jumped in and are quite open and active now. I also placed some containers of plants along side the tank on the outside and the frogs think they are really hidden.
bahaha, we have a smaller enclosure we put ours in in the winter time so we can move them by the fire if the power goes out, and the first time I put them in I went to say hello to them, and the one lunged at me mouth wide open like he was pissed and smacked into the lid... XD; they always recognize me because I usually mean food, so it wa skindof like he was throwing a tantrum XD; I love them to death though, : D they're so silly, just give them their froggy space and they'll forgive you :'3 I always give mine crickets when I transfer them between places so that'll find it to be positive XD; it's kindof like my appology for robbing them of their sleep the next night or two while I clean everything out ^-^;;; also if you pick them up when moving them you might try gently nudging them into a horizontal plastic cup instead, it's less interaction and squeezing and what not, might freak them a little less ^-^;
it's hard to get them out of it but if you wear rubber gloves ( latex/powder free ) you can push the cup still horizontal down in the water and once they run out of space to climb up it they'll give up and swim out. that way no shaking no dumping no prodding ^-^ putting a blanket over half the enclosure and making one half of it very dark and keeping the noise and movement down in that area for a bit sometimes helps relax them too. I always wanna watch them interact with their new environment though so I'm always peeking in hoping they're not looking >-^;
