Nice, never heard of that species before, you also got pictures of the adults?

Sorry I don't have pics of the adults, as I ordered these froglets with my last order of laevis & borealis frogs a couple weeks ago ;o)
Those are pretty cool. Are you currently housing them by themselves? How big will they get. Info on them seems to be pretty limited. You have a great oppurtunity there. Please document everything.
The Xenopus Boumbaensis are froglets right now (born January 3rd, 2011), in a 5.5 gallon tank, with 1 albino laevis froglet....they will grow to the small size about the same as S. Tropicalis. They are definitely a LOT more skittish & freak out more easily, than the albino laevis froglet in the tank with them. I plan on keeping regular updates and posts on here, and documenting as much as I can ;o) I can't wait til Friday, when i receive 4 more Adult pairs, of 4 more Xenopus species!!
FYI: Xenopus boumbaensis is native to a small region of southeastern Cameroon around the Boumba Bek National Park. They are found in the lowland forest areas. This species is closely related to the "fraseri-like" group, especially X. pygmaeus, X. amieti, and X. andrei. This species is an octoploid, 8 sets of chromosomes for a total of 72.
