Default Frog hasn't eaten in two days

I moved my frog into a new terrarium two days ago and he still hasn't eaten. He's healthy, moving around fine, but he just hasn't eaten. Should I be worried?

Na, just let him get comfortable and settle in. Its a new home and he needs to find his own places to feel secure, and learn what is where.

Thanks for asking that, I am unsure if mine has eaten or not and have had her 2 days. She might be getting settled in too. As far as not knowing if she has or hasn't, crickets have been escaping, not sure if it's from the tank or from the cricket keeper lol.

Yeah the adjustment period is different for every frog, and you may experience it in different ways. Just give them time to settle in, try not to bug them too much and keep them in a quiet environment without too much noise or stress, and this will reduce the settling time.

I covered my baby Whites' and Tomops' tank with paper taped to the outside so he couldn't see us and I couldn't see him for the first month. I removed one piece of paper every week, and that seemed to help his adjustment. He felt safer I think.

Well, I got Kermit to eat a cricket, but I didn't dust it with the calcium. I don't think he likes it; anything else I can use that he might be more willing to eat?

And I know he ate the cricket because I dropped it in front of him and watched him jump and snatch it. So awesome to watch.

Yeah it is something to see them lunge. My little guy gets a mouthfull of paper towel every time he goes for a cricket.

What you can do it buy cricket gutload and feed it to the cricket 24 hours before you feed the crickets to your frog, that's what I do at least, and this way they get a little dose of vitamins for every cricket they eat.

Just curious, about how long can they go without eating? I know some of our tarantulas can go over 6 months, but I have no idea about a frog.

They can go a while but you really need to watch the weight. If you see it dropping then you need to get involved.

I feed my crickets in a bowl. Just place a smooth regular round bowl in and drop a few crickets into the bowl. The round smooth sides and bottom don't provide traction and the crickets can;t climb or jump out.

Some folks use a clear bowl and sink in down into the substrate so it will also catch any loose crickets that are roaming the tank.

In the morning, just dump the remaining crickets back into the cricket keeper for the next feeding.
Once your frogs become use to you the calc covered crickets will disappear just like the non-covered ones :-)
