Does anyone use infrared lights for warmth or night viewing of their frogs, be it tree, dart, aquatic (though I don't know the lighting requirements you should have for those, sorry)?
The reason I ask is because I am currently using an infrared (exo terra) and some sort of day light (it's blue glass but I don't have specifics, someone threw the box away), they're both 50 watts, on my ten gallon tank with my baby White's inside. I used these same lights on the same tank for my bigger White's and it could be the reason for the damage to his eyes. The vet said that the lights were probably too close, and when I raised them up they didn't seem to progress further but they have never healed completely.
Since this incident I have used the lights (so I didn't have to buy new ones) but raised them up about six inches from the top. So far I have seen no signs that the baby's eyes have been damaged, but you never stop wondering...
So I'm asking, does anyone use infrared (what wattage) with their frogs?
Thanks guys, your experience would be helpful.
