One more question, I have been feeding my frog mealworms and crickets. He usually eats about one meal worm, or two small crickets. Is this too much, as I'm trying to avoid obesity? But I'm also not trying to starve him.
Kisa might have a better answer for this since I don't feed mealworms. I believe they are more a treat than a nutritional valued item.
1.0.0 Red Eyed Leaf/ Frog - Agalychnis callidryas
1.1.1 Bumblebee Dart Frog - Dendrobates leucomelas
1.1.0 Dendrobates truncatus - Yellow Striped
1.1.1 Dendrobates tinctorius – Bakhuis Mountain
1.1.0 - Dendrobates tinctorius - Powder Blue
1.1.0 - Ranitomeya vanzolinii
So do you feed mostly crickets? Everything I've read about White's Tree Frogs has said mealworms and crickets.
mealworms are kinds bad. They should only be used as a treat for larger frogs (4-5 inch) the shells are hard to digest and can cause impaction.
So do you think I should stick to crickets as the main source of his diet?
yep crix. Wax worms for treats-- or to fatten them ip if they're skinney. Once they get over 3" you can feed them nightcrawlers from Walmart. Make sure u soak and strip the poop out of them. You can also use canned silk worms until they're grown. But u have to handfeed them with thongs. I can't wait for summer, in going to make a fly trap, and get them some real exercise chasing those.
