Mold

I had constructed a terrerium that i planned on putting dart frogs in but i keep fighting this mold, it groes on bamboo, sphagnum moss, leaves and were ever else it can. ny help or suggestions? i was gonna completetly drie out the cage, good or bad idea? any help would be great!

Mold is part of the normal cycle, it will die off in time. You can accelerate the process by adding springtails.

Like Tony said. I had mold on my piece of java wood as of two weeks after my viv was completed. I seeded springtails last week, and they are feasting on the mold. It's almost all gone now.

thanks, would a terrarium supplie store ( black jungle) carry spring tails ot should i look into other dealers?

Several dart frog/terrarium vendors carry springs, as do some forum members. Try Mike (poison beauties), he sells great cultures at a very reasonable price.

Yes, Black Jungle sells springtails, but call ahead before going out there.
