I have a quick question of fruit fly containers. My Drosophila Hydei Fruit Fly Culture looks like it crashed and there are only a 20 or so flys left in it. I started another culture with the remaining flies in the hopes of keeping this line going. ( I kept putting off making a new culture on this one and now it might be too late).
So now the question. Can I reuse the plastic containers to start another culture. I know it will need a new top but just wanted to know if I could recycle the container a few times?

I reuse them all the time, no problem. Just scrub them out and you are good to go.
Even the tops are reusable, soak them in 10% bleach solution and all the nasty stuff will come off.
Kurt & Tony,
Thanks for the info. I saved the container but had already tossed the top. This will save me some cash to spend on other things needed.
