I just got Powder today and I think there might be a problem. I got him at the pet store up the road from my house and they told me he could go in my tank with the other critters and eat the fish food as well and would be fine. After doing some research I do not think it will work. I have a 30 gallon tank with 2 red thai crabs, a golden dojo, a black finned shark, two turqious rainbows, 4 tiger barbs, 4 zebra danios, 3 red and black platys, 1 algea eater, and a snail. With all I have read there I havent found anything about keeping them in a tank with other fish and such. Is it safe? Also i read that there should be no filter or one that does not create a big current. My filter creates a current but only at the top of the tank. Also, I have a bubble curtain and a bubble rock because I was having big algea and dirty tank issues and the more movement in the water the cleaner it stays. There are planty of places for powder to hide and I do not think the other fish will bother him but is it safe for him to be in the tank? I would appreciate anyones help! Thank you!
He will eat everything that fits in his mouth.
The best way is to keep him in a tank with only other clawed frogs (Xenopus laevis).

Your frog will try to eat every single fish that it can, they get fairly big and could eat a fish which is 4 inches long easy peasy. Your frogs will be at war with those crabs you own as well so if i were you i would have second thoughts on keeping it.
Fish food is not a healthy diet for these frogs too. They need reptomin sticks as a main diet and the occasional wiggly worm or something similar is nice for them
Do you think he will be ok until I can get a smaller tank just for him because he is realy small. With his legs in he isnt much bigger than maybe a half dollar. I will have to get him some food he can eat friday but until then it will have to be fishfood. Thank you all for your replys its really helpful.
Clawed frogs aren´t picky, they eat frozen or live daphnia, artemia, bloodworms, white and black bloodworms, krill, earthworms, small fish, snails (remove the shell before feeding them)...
This is available in every petstore where they sell tropical fish.

i agree it will eat anything it can fit in its mouth. i have one called tango and i had a dalmation molly called spot and spot had babies and had 15 during a night. i have cameras set around the tank because i liked to see what they do while im in bed. i didn't realise spot was pregnant so on the video you can see spot giving birth and straight away you can see tango going and eating the babies. spot late died of what im guessing as exhaustion while i was asleep and only one baby survived the night. but when i woke up tango was in the middle on eating the dalmatian molly even thought spot was alot bigger than tango was. so if i was you i would spearate it from the other fish or you might find they will slowly dissapear.![]()
I find it hard to believe that you could not find any info on keeping them with fish. Every source good, bad, or ugly screams that these guys are bottomless and will eat any and everything that fits into their mouths.
There is also a great chance he/she will get out of your tank where the equipment is mounted. If it is not possible to seal it up tight I would suggest lowering the water level a couple of inches.
