too cute!!! he is a determined little guy! (And her coloring is lovely!!!)

    Word of caution: your snail.

My male frog, Louie had swam by a snail while I was at work and apparently startled it - when snails feel threatened they close up, and Louie's arm became stuck in the shell. The wait of the snail was too heavy for Louie to lift to go up for air, and by the time I came home he was on his back in the tank - I grabbed him and the snail out, and luckily he was still, barely, alive.

After calling my mother over to help, we ended up freeing his arm by tearing the snail apart with a pair of pliers - - these snails have trapdoors made out of the same material as their shell. His arm ended up being broken in two places but it did eventually heal.

I am just grateful that I came home in time, much longer and I would have had a dead frog

oh, and I have since removed any and all snails from my tanks.

That is unbelievable! It seems like pets will always find a way to do the unbelievable. Stuff like that is why I am a strong believer in a species only set up when it comes to these guys.
Did the arm become normal again and did any part come off? I have one right now that went into my over flow, then got stuck in the strainer. Lost her left hand. It appears to be growing back, it is still small and one finger is missing. I have since move the frogs to a different setup.
