Aw that is really sad. I don't get how some people can be so cruel to animals. They don't deserve to be able to have any. At least you gave him a good home.

To me though, your Avic looks like an Aviculeria Aviculeria, but it can be hard to tell because the Avic Avic and Avic Metallica are so close. I have an Avic Avic and yours looks like mine. There's SO many avics LOL.

    Avic Avic female

    Avic Avic male

    Avic Metallica female

Are you sure yours is male?
Notice how small the male's abdomin is. I can't find a photo of a A Metallica male though. I don't trust just anywhere in google either lol, I checked out Tarantula Canada

Edited to add: Yours may be the A Metallica if it hasn't molted recently in the photo, which would dull the colour too lol.

Tar hasn't molted since I brought him home in December...and he is definitely male-he has some pretty good sized tibial hooks on him! He could very well be an Avic avic-I am just going by an I.D. I received on a tarantula forum I am a part of, and he is not as brilliantly coloured as my Avic avic female. All I know is that he is definitely not an A. versicolor, which is still on my want list. If he is not a true metallic, than I want another one of those too ! My want list just keeps getting longer and longer and longer....

Oh I know about the lists!! We started with one.. then another... then all of a sudden we were up to 16 LOL! A day or so after he molts (who knows when that'll be), take a pic and see if he is a lot more blue!

I'm also into Arachnids. I currently have 1 female Salmon Pink Bird Eater, 1 female Antilles pinktoe, 1 peruvian purple pink toe sling, and 2 B verdezi slings.

Nice, Tofuman! Do you have any pictures?

I just recently rescued a Pueban Milk Snake. She is 10 years old and over 3 feet long....I will be holding her for the first time tomorrow. Don't really have a choice-her tank is filthy and I won't allow her to continue to live in those conditions. Her original name was Ruby, but a unanimous family vote changed it to Trinket.

I couldn't get any pics of my slings since my camera sucks. Here's my adults.

They are gorgeous!! I am so jealous of your A. versicolor...I want one of those so bad!! I have never seen a Pink Salmon either-I really like the pattern on her. Thank you so much for sharing! I want to try a spider sling one day, but down the road. Right now, with the geckos, snakes, and spiders, never mind all the frogs and toads, my hands are a bit full right now.

Jeez anna. Those are some nice looking T.s! I been doing my research on them. I can't currently keep one. But I'm looking into other inverts(insects mainly). lol. Might get myself some Jerusalem crickets.

Anyways good luck with those beauts!

Alright, digging up old threads =) So is the carpet the only substrate you have for your cornsnake? And how on earth did you get him to go up in the tree? If you have a thread with more pics of his tank I'd like to see it, my girlfriends snake is in cedar bedding and just stays underneath it all day.
Oh, and you said you picked your T.'s up from your work? She is also wanting a Chaco Golden Knee i think it's called, it will be her first T. I've tried getting her to get onto forums to ask for help, but stubborn is stubborn. Any words of advice?

This thread is way too old... why not just make a new one with questions? If you're interest in T's go to arachnoboards.com imo there are T experts over there. Though watch out for the newbies giving advice.

nice to see someone else who keeps T's and frog! i used to have alot of T's but downsized to an A.versicolor P.regalis and a very tempermental P.muticus. You should think about getting a pokie or a real A.versicolor some of the most interesting and fun to keep T's!

Her baby just came in friday, he's so tiny! can't wait till he grows big and strong. as far as getting more, I'm hoping the kids start showing interest in wanting unique animals, mainly because i bought a colony of dubias, and as convenient as it is to have any size feeder, i'm just not going through them like i was hoping to.
