    Default Loss of Appetite

Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me figure out whats wrong with one of my pacman. For about 1-2 months now he seems to be just not himself.

He has been going underground for weeks on end barely coming up if at all. He was doing it for a few weeks but I noticed he was still eating about once every week or so, so I let him be as he was still eating. Just as I started to really worry he came up, thinner but nothing drastic, and he started to eat a little again.

We'll that lasted about 2-3 days and sure enough he was back underground barely eating. Within the last 3 weeks I've seen him once and it was just briefly before he vanished again. This time he hasn't eaten at all since so I decided to pull him up the day before yesterday and sadly he lost tons of weight since I seen him last.

He use to be a chubby little guy with a large appetite and now he is pretty thin and I just don't understand why he has had such a change. I got him to eat one little earthworm yesterday as I rubbed it up against his mouth but after he finished he just went right underground again.

All my other guys are doing great and eating nicely so I don't understand what's wrong with him. The only thing that has really changed for him was a move into a larger house, but that was awhile before this behavior started. He is also in a split tank and my other guy is doing great.

Any suggestions on how to encourage him to eat and maybe come out from underneath the ground sometimes. Also, do you have any ideas on why he could be doing this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Guys,

Thought I would bump this up to see if anyone could help me out. He has lost more weight and I'm desperate for any answers.

As of tonight I put him in a rubber tub with moist paper towel and I tried to get him to eat a worm by gently rubbing it on his mouth, but no luck. I put him in a dark area of the room but I'm not to sure what to do from here.

Any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

If he keeps burrowing and losing weight my only suggestion would be don't give him a chance to burrow and keep him on papertowel substrate.

Sounds like you know what you're doing, but make sure he/she is warm. If it keeps burying, the temps could be off. Hope things get better, good luck.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I really appreciate it!

I checked with a friend locally in town on pinkies and he was out. He had small frozen white mice though and I did try one of those. No interest at all.

I just don't understand why he is doing this. He is in a controlled room and is at 78-81 degrees, 70% humidty, plus additional from me spraying the tank down once in the morning and at night

I'm going to try and order a few other things online for him to eat. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something he feels comfortable with. I'm just scared he won't make it that long. Once again, thank you guys!
