Fire bellied toad has escaped through a tiny hole in lid

we are searching the hole house,one of my fire bellied toads has escaped from a tiny hole which the heater wife went through,he isnt in the tank I have taken it all apart,what are the chances of fining him alive?I am gutted

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. Did you find your frog? Is he ok? Firebellies are some of the best escape artists. They can fit through a small hole and they are pretty strong little guys when it comes to pushing up lids. The lids must be able to lock.

Just saw this post myself! Hope you found your little one. I have had quite a few escape artists myself, and only one death, so the odds are in your favour. I would usually place various little water dishes around the room my toad escaped in and within a day or two, I would find my cat staring at one of them and a dog/cat hair-covered toad sitting in the water.
