Hi All,
I have recently acquired some frogs that jumped on a crate of chameleons from Madagascar to to end up in a 20 long, here in Boca Raton, Fl. I know the pics are not all that great, going to have to purchase a better camera if I'm going to keep making posts
The frogs were sold to me as Madagascar Grass Frogs but, I cant find anything conclusive. They are really awesome little frogs that remind me of cartoon side characters, like the penguins from the movie Madagascar.
If anyone can supply more information on these funny little frogs, please do.
Roman
Sorry I can't be more help to ID them, but what sweet little faces!
God bless,
Laura
I can't seem to ID it for the life of me, the nearest thing looked like a tree frog with the padded toes.
I'd buy two in any case! Very handsome little bugger.
Looks to me like some kind of Microhylid frog.
Scaphiophryne marmorata maybe?
God bless,
Laura
Scaphiophryne pustulosa! Thank you for all your comments and thoughts! I looked around on the net using key words supplied by you, my frog buddies, and found that they are Scaphiophryne pustulosa! thats all Ive found so far, I will keep you posted as to my research. Again, thanks
Hi Guys,
Im not sure if I made myself clear. In all three pictures its the same frog " Big Mama ". The other two, " the boys " look a bit different. Ill take more pictures of Big Mama and the Boys tomorrow after class when its light outside.
Scaphiophryne pustulosa is considered synonymous with S. madagascariensis.
Scaphiophryne madagascariensis
So you can find info by googling both names.
Post pics of the males! Thanks,JVK
It's not Scaphiophryne marmorata . Scaphophryne has tree frog toes, the one the guy has doesn't - they almost look like toad toes.
Just look at the toes. THE TOES!
