I've been working on a vivarium for some tree frogs for awhile now and it includes a waterfall feature. I was wondering what a good PH range should be?
Also, I was wondering if I let some water sit in a section of the waterfall for about 15-20 minutes and then check it would that give give me an accurate reading or should I test right away or wait longer? Thanks guys!
Well, u have to cycle the tank for 2 weeks I think, for the water and pump to stabalize bacteria, just like fish. So if u been running a while, just test from anywhere, running is fine. You want between 6.8 and 7.2. I find my water conditioner really lowers my ph, but u wana check fir amonia and nitrates too. I'm just going off of fish experience, and followed a thread that mike had. Good luck, and we'd all like 2 see!!!
Did yr egg sack hatch yet?
Thanks for the response.![]()
I have been soaking it down with water a little bit of vinegar off and on for the best few days. Hopefully after a few more days of it and few good rinses it'll be ready to use. Unfortunately parts of it started cracking but hopefully it'll hold up.
We pulled the sac about 2 weeks ago and have been incubating the eggs but its looking they are duds sadly. We will just have to find her a boyfriend this summer and try to get fertilized eggs. Currently we have 3 tarantulas expecting to lay a sac and we mated them so the eggs will / should be good.
