I have been to Ohio, I fully understand how you feel. Now here in New England, we have a strong frog hobby base, i.e., Black Jungle and the New England Frog Group. In Massachusetts, there is only one frog that is illegal to keep, and that's the eastern spadefoot, Scaphiopus holbrookii. It's a native to the state and on the decline. Of course, federal law supercedes state law, so there are other species we can't keep like the pine barrens treefrog, Hyla andersonii.
