WOW that is the smallest 3yr old male ive ever seen...

WOW! That male pyxie frog is small for a 3 year old, but not all pyxies have the best growth. It was probably he really didn't dust the crickets with calcium, unless if he fed it a lot of mice.

I don't see any calcium deficiency problem with this frog. I do agree that not all pyxies will grow at the same rate and get to the same adult sizes.

My friends are in Germany tomorrow att Hamm expo and he promise to look for a new male or some juveniles. Maybe ill get one tomorrow anyway with som luck. Hoping for a bigboy then hehe.

WOW! Finally you have a chance to get a male pyxie frog and he turns you down. Even for a good price. I hope you will find a nice 5 inch male tomorrow so its not too small to sex and not too big for some money.

dont worry from what i can gather there will be plenty at ham and looking at the other male you would be better of getting a younger one and growing it on yourself there growth rate when young is amazing,

Yeah i think so to. Fun to watch them grow and this one was a bit small. But i asked them to look for a adult male and if there isnt any they get som juveniles

Well like I said hope you get a male, and if they don't have a male get as much juveniles until you think that you have enough to get a male.

I payed around 80 euros for it. Yes its pretty small specimen! It have been feed dubias and crickets and no mouse, about the calcium the owner has been really serious with that so no problem there. Think he has gotten mice just a couple of times. Maybe thats one reason for the size??

Im gonna try to feed it alot and see if he catches up with the growing what do you guys think hehe?

Well you don't want to feed it a lot of mice because (1) he could probably loose his appetite(2) it really isn't fun to watch him eat mice all the time. Like it will sometimes be funner to watch him eat what he can eat a lot of in one sitting. (3) It could cause obesety.
