    Default My Vivarium Background

Today I needed a break from work so I decided to start on a new background for one of my vivariums. I got tons of free foam a few weeks ago and figured it was time to start using it.

It's not finished yet, but I thought I would share what I have so far. I started with a large sheet of foam, a knife, and this metal toothpick looking thing and just started carving. It's going to go in one of my 10 Gallons.

I'm going to try and create an old ruins look and have the bricks and wall cracked. Then in the center I'm trying to make it look like a dragon carved in where part of the wall has been worn and broken off.

I still have some cleaning up on it and then I'm going to add vines growing in between some of the bricks. I will probably start the vines tomorrow and then maybe within the next day or so start cementing it.

Here is what it looks like so far.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone

I put the first coat of Quikrete on today and I also added a bottom piece to create an "L" shape. I don't want this to be a permanent background so I added the piece to the bottom to give it support and the substrate will go on top of it. I

This background is going to be for my biggest pacman, Appa. I'm hoping he will enjoy burrowing in front of it, lol.
