I have a 10 gallon vertical terrarium set up for poison dart frogs. I had planned on getting some pdfs, but am reconsidering. My question is: Is there anything other than a pdf that can survive in this setup, preferably something diurnal? (I am not talking about mixing species with a pdf, just what else could survive with the high humidity and almost no ventilation). Thank you.
Wow...that sounds to me like a PDF setup. Is there a reason you don't want a dart frog? They are cute. Everything else is going to need better ventilation.
I haven't completely decided not to get a pdf. I was looking into options. Just a little nervous about culturing fruit flies and the vitamin supplements I guess. The are pretty expensive to make mistakes.
I've only had darts for about 4 months now so I am not an expert by anymeans. But the one thing that kept me from getting them in the first place is the easiest part. Fruit flies cant get any easier and they are the cheapest food source out there. You can order a fruit fly culture and any supplies you need from Joshs Frogs. Check him out on our sponsor page. And he'll even set you up with the proper vitamins. Give him a call. but seriously don't let the fruit flies hold you back its really no big deal. And they're practically free when you think about the cost.
