Now im not talking about playing a recording and letting them chirp back. I'm talking about chirping at them and they chirp back. I have a young male red eye and he sits on a leaf right out in front and chirps at me. I chirp back and he gets louder. He staring right at me so he knows its me and not another frog. I could go on with him all night if he had more than one thing to say.but the conversation is a little repetitive.
okay maybe its late..and I'm just crazy talking to my frogs....goodnight everyone.

Sure, my Red Eyes have a clicking sound and both me and my wife can get them talking back. My Whites on the other hand like music and will sound off if my granddaughter is singing to them.
Pretty funny stuff but it has kept the TV of many an evening :-)
Cheri,
I'm a little crazy too...LOL![]()
I try to "croak" back at my frogs and they will do it back sometimes....but I mainly just "talk" to them like a pet in my "pet voice" almost like baby talk. They will just sit on a leaf and stare at me...
I will also play cricket sounds for them from a flashlight that has different sound options. They will usually come out of hiding when I play it. And I use it to draw out hiding crickets as well. I feel sorry for the crickets sometimes....

I talk to mine all the time and ask them how they have been. I know my husband has probably worried about my mental state a few times, lol.
*whew* I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this lol![]()
I'm pretty sure it's universal. They are pets after all. My whites have me confused if they're male or not by the talking. They do it easily durring feeding time, 3 croaks, like they're saying, "feed me mom!"
