    Default A Super Smart Toad?

Good to meet you all! I would like to exchange views and knowledge about the Bufo Guttatus, also known as a Smooth Sided or Spotted toad, with others who have them.

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you here. Do you already have this toad or are you looking to get them?

I have two Buffo Guttatus males now and had another pair of males prior to these. I prefer male pairs because I worry that females may become “egg bound”. (Is that actually a danger for any frog or toad? Or did I just dream that up?)
While I don’t need newBuffo Guttatus right now, I always like to know where I can get them.
I found my first pair, the “Blues Brothers”, Jake and Elwood, before I knew what a Buffo Guttatus was. I had gone to a Html Software Conference in St. Louis and an old frog e-list friend (in an Anuran e-list) picked me up at the hotel and took me to a kind of exclusive pet emporium that was owned by a friend of his. While I wanted almost everything I saw, I flipped out over these toads. There isn’t anything flashy or special about the color or the body, just run-of-the- mill toadyness.
My current pair of Buffo Guttatus are Wally and the Beaver from the old TV show “Leave it to Beaver”.
Even though my original join date for this forum was 2009, I was a newbie then and got so lost, and here I am back after retirement (from the University of MS) and still lost and still a newbie. I am going to make lots of mistakes!!
I look forward to posting some examples of what I believe are proofs of the intelligence of the Buffo Guttatus.

Thanks for the welcome. What frogs/toads do you have in your collection?
