    Default Hey!

Hi, I am new here and from Georgia. This site looks awesome and I can't wait to get active on it!!! I don't think I have ever seen such a big site dedicated to frogs and it has a lot of helpful/useful information directly from real people with real experience. I have had a fire belly toad, three dart frogs, and other frogs for very short periods of time (from an hour to maybe a day) that were just for me to look at when I was younger. My fire belly died because his leg was broken trying to catch a cricket. It bent on a log and as a result he died.. My dart frogs died because of nothing but my stupidity. For one, I shouldn't of got dart frogs without having any experience but fire belly toads and some research. And two they died because one of them drowned (he had some seizure problem and it happened while he was stuck to the glass over some water so he fell in and died ) As a result, I took out the water for a day or two (which was SO incredibly stupid of my considering I didn't spray them regularly) and I also took out the fogger. Later the other two dried out and died
I am now interested in amphibians again and would like to get a White Tree frog. I have spent about 280$ on a terrarium, fogger, heating pad, etc. so far. Which is a little under the amount I paid for the dart frogs. I have so far succesfully convinced my mom for me to get one, bought all the materials, and lack everything but the FROG. I had NO idea how hard it would be to find one at a local pet store! No one around here sells them! NO ONE! So I am probably going to have to have it shipped here (which is pretty expensive...) unless I can find a pet store that sells them or get another frog that can live comfortably in my tank.

well welcome to forum. And thank u for being so honist about your mistakes. All the on line dealers are out of WTF. But I'm sure if u call around to neighboring towns u can find one. Get your viv set up and running. Control temps and humidity for a while before introducing frogs. I had mine going a month before hand. Good luck in your search, and one lord thing whites are the hardiest frogs, but still need time and privacy for a few months. So don't over stress them and they will soon be friendly.

Welcome to the forum. Why don't you post a pic of you setup so we can see what you've got going for your soon to be new frog. I agree it would be best to set up the viv and monitor the conditions for awhile before you introduce the frogs.

Welcome to the forum! And getting the viv ready before introducing the frog is better, you will be able to get accustomed to its settings first and see how well you manage the temperature, humidity, etc!

Thanks for all the hello's and advice! I am loving this fourm so far and I plan to order my frogs either this week or next. The temperatures and humidity levels seem stable and now I just need the frogs!
