My experience with heat pads is that they provide little or no addition to the ambient temperature. They do however, keep the substrate nice and warm, which is more important if your frog is buried. I have a heat pad under my 10 gallon pacman tank and it keeps the substrate between 80 and 85 degrees (and that is not even directly stuck to the glass). Try temping your substrate, if you haven't done so already. Otherwise, you can use a heat light or regular incandescent house light to keep temps up. They just dry out the substrate really fast and decrease humidity.

Okay thanks! i just read your other post on the other subject, Thanks for helping me, Yeah i have the tank slanted up so no heat is really getting caught under the tank and my table.

What about a ceramic heat emitter? Those are designed to raise the ambient temps of your tank rather than a heat bulb which is more to raise the temps in a certain spot in your tank. Things don't always dry out as fast using a heat emitter rather than a heat lamp.

Also, I think it depends on where the thermometer is in the tank, so if your thermometer is on what would be the colder side of the tank, that might affect it too

I might have to try the heat emitter, but as others said, as long as the substrate stays at a warm temperature it should be fine. and It makes sense to me =]
