How do you serve your crickets?

how do you give your crickets to your frog? i have moss in the tank and i am afraid they will hide in it and die and never get eaten. i tried a small dish about 2in deep and 2in wide but they have figured out how to jump out. should i just let them roam the terrarium? also do you dust with just calcium or do you do a multivitamin also?

I use a shoe container, that I got at Wally World for $1.50 It's big enough for some small frogs, like FBT's. I drilled some holes in the top lid for air. But you might wanna try a bigger container to feed in.

I use both Calcium and Multivitamin.

Hi there, I agree with Scott. I think it was our Moderator Paul who says to use a glass dish that is deep enough to keep the crickets in but OK for the frogs to get in and out of. If you plant the dish in the moss then the Crickets that have not yet been eaten will eventually fall into it and then the frogs get to them.

They wont jump out of the glass bowl. Try this, dump 10 crickets in the enclosure. a few hours later bury the glass dish in the substrate. Very quickly most of the crickets will be trapped in the dish. Here is the original thread where we discussed it.
