Couple growth questions

I have a couple questions about the growth rate of a pyxie. I am looking to buy two pyxies this upcoming week and the person I'm gonna buy them frog said he has had the female for about three years and a smaller younger frog for about a year. He sent me pictures and I can't upload them right now but the female seems to be around 6 inches but what caught me off gaurd was the one he said he had for around a year is only the size of the white part of a sharpie marker. Is that normal or is that a dwarf. The frog still has it's stripes on its back and the two on the sides as well. His price seems to be very good but then again I never had the chance to buy any. He is asking 75 for both. I jus wanna know if it's normal for one to grow that slowly or not. He also told me that he has never given them rodents just a strict insect diet. Any help is appreciated and thanks. I'll upload the pics once I'm on my computer.

90% sure they are both females. Growth is an interesting subject. I posted a topic about it in December. My pixie is growing above the male and female growth chart on the care sheet. People got indecisive whether a male or female (not on here but fauna and other forums). On here the majority says female but some say male. My frog is now about 5 inches and I've had it for less than 6 months. Hope I helped!

My biggest concern really was that i wasnt sure that the little one was a giant since he said it was a year old and its still that little. I dont know much about pyxie frogs but im pretty sure at a year old it should be a little bigger then that.

You are right. At first glance I thought it was just protecting its eyes from the hand but her eyes do look unhealthy in the third one also. As far as the first picture, from that picture I would say giant still. A side shot would be better.
