Suicidal springtails

Hi,

I've seeded springtails in my big-eyed treefrog terrarium, simply as "cleaners", and they are doing a fantastic job. Now as they do not have a natural predator in the likes of my frog, they proceed to a mass suicide in the water pool in the enclosure.

Is there a way to prevent them from plunging to their death in water, or is it just in nature to go for the water and que sera sera?

Spring tails stand on the surface film. They shouldn't have a problem with water.

They are regularly cultured over water in charcoal, I wouldnt worry about losing your entire population. Infact with no predators in the viv they are likely to become over abundant,
