Welcome to the forum Larry. Glad to have you here. What kind of frogs did you have before? I know what you mean by the kid thing....sometimes they can be very time consuming. 135 gallon tank is a very good size im sure your red eyes will appreciate it. We are having a contest running through March that you could participate in if you show us your build as you do it on your tank. It doesn't have to be elaborate just show us pictures and talk about how your setting it up. Its a lot of fun and all participants have an equal chance to win a misting system. The thread is in the vivarium forum section check it out. Again welcome aboard we hope you enjoy your stay....you've come to the most family style frog forum on the internet. Welcome

Hello there,, we had darts, retfs and alot of pacman... Got the retfs as tads and it was great with the kids when they were young. The retf's was alway our favorites and we moved from Vermont to Va and got rid of all the frogs and 135 snakes.. With the take I was going to do a false bottom but now I don't think I will.. I am told that I don't need to but want to turn it into a breeder tank aswell if that will work so looking for alot of info with you all and hope to learn alot.. I will ck out the contest.. Will be starting the tank very soon.. Wife HATES the fish.. The tank is in my wall. I will have to take pics.. We are just sick of the water issues and so on.

One hundred and thirty five snakes? But your wife hated the fish? LoL. Well it definably doesn't sound like you're a newbie. you don't have to do a false bottom...im not particularly fond of them myself. I just use Leca (clay balls) for the drainage layer its much easier. I would love to see how your build comes along....thanks for sharing.

LOL Well not a newbie to reps and amp but new to breeding or keeping a big tank of frogs and so on. ALot to learn. Wife never minded the reps but I had some big ones and she was nervous with the kids.. Not doing the false.. Think just the gravel and so on.. We got to do something with these darn fish.. Where did you get your Leca at?

ANd thanks to everyone for the welcome!!!

You can get Leca at most big chain pet stores or reptile shops. Also the hydroponics shops if you have those out your way. They sell them in bags. They look like little round balls. You can also order them from our sponsors here on the forum along with some cool plants and mosses for your set up.
