I cannot post a thumb nail, sorry, but u can check my alblum to see my slightly over-planted viv. I use votive containers, bansai pots, and a square bowl for plant pots. I put 2 inches of rock, coco fiber, and moss over that. Since my one WTF seems to get a mouth full of moss everytime he eats, I have siliconed pebble together to cover the moss. But I did all that to bring floor level up to pot ledge, not required really, just for looks. My stick is aged and like driftwood almost, no bark and from outside. Bake for an hour at 200 deg and u can save$ and have a more genuine look to viv. I also used shelf mushrooms off of birch trees , if u plan on using silicone for anything, let it dry 2 days before putting frogs in. Work on your viv for a month, set it up, balance temp, humidity and plants. Common house plants work fine as long as they're not sharp or toxic, so clippings from garden or friends plants work well. I find small plants at the florists or from Walmart keeping that part under 20$. Wash your roots and leaves, re-pot in coco fiber as moss is too soggy. Tough plants that need less attention, jade tree, mother in laws, and bamboo, and spider plant. Goof luck and have fun. Keep us posted!!!

I love the look of your enclosure I finaly figured out how to get to your invidual photo album and that is the look I am looking for I basically wanted it to look like I walked out in the forest and saw this frog and sliced out a peice of earth and brought it into my home I want people to look at it and see this beutiful forest display then say oh my god there are frogs in here. I want the frogs to be this beautiful surprise.
And don't worry about me putting frogs in there right away. We have alot of painting to do first in the living room and the color scheme will match the terrarium and I don't want the fumes from the paint hurting the frogs in fact I am boarding all our pets before we paint. Just for that reason.
Also we are still in our winter months here Northern Michigan and I don't want to risk transporting animals during these months so it will give me alot of time to get everything together first. And trust me I will have a tone more posts before I am done I want to Know everything before I get myelf into anything. Before we got our first daschund me and my wife spent a year reaserching them knowing what the risk are Knowing what kind of problems we might have and how much will it costs to take care of those problems. It is a O.C.D of mine..![]()
cool, you're up in my neighborhood, we have sol much from nature we can use. Almost all hardwoods are safe if completly dried, and sanitized, 3 varieties of mushrooms that grow on birch, all shelf mushrooms are eddible, if yr starving?!?! LOL!! U can probably find a nice drift wood some where, looks nice and a great hide!!! I think u can pick them if they're beached, but not submerged in water, check your local laws. Moss doesn't hold up long because it's variety needs a frozen spell, but moss that's on a stick (after baked) will grow back slowly, and don't forget to pick some nice beach rock, as they love to cool themselves before swimming. Kernit and lump have a marble ball from a fountain and a old cue ball. They perch on these every night.
I am going to do moss on a screen for a bottom, as soon as greenhouses open, maybe a couple kinds of Spanish moss. I'm going to be able to lift out moss sheet to clean. Also, I know what it's like to have physical problems, mine is arms and hands, and I find whites low maintanance, pick up poops 2x a week, and wipe down favorite perches 1x a week, and change water ev day. I use a turkey baister, so I'm not fumbling around with the big bowl, paper towel wipe up, and viniger water mix to spray it out 1x a week. Viniger competely evaporates and kills germs and bacteria. I did my first cleaning after 2 months, took hours, but was suprised I can go maybe 4 months between full cleaning. But I have allot of plants and rock.
I can't wait to see what u do

I live at the tip of the mitt. So Iam surronded by forest and lakes etc. And my physical problems are with my eyes. that is why I can't drive I am legally Blind but functionally blind. The number one problem I have is that the way my eyes are they scramble info to my brain. The result is that I have dizzy spells that may last a few seconds to several days. I have fallen more times then I can count.
Vertigo, ya my cuz got hit in head with a tree, same problem, but he can see, brains all mixed up though!!! LOL. Frogs are native american animal of re-birth, and healing. We could both use some of that!
