Default Facebook: Profile of a member

    Hi all,

I would like to profile a Frog Forum member/moderator once a week on Facebook. Basically, we have a fantastic pool of experts, enthusiasts on the site, and I think it would be a great way to put a human face to our site, but also to show the amazing knowledge that this site has to offer.

I've done something like this for a Facebook page of a probiotic company and we had great success with it.

I am looking for the first member to be profiled. Is anyone interested? We'll add a picture, and a description, and perhaps a link to one of your threads.

As for the following weeks, we'll establish a schedule!

    Thanks,

    Eric

Interesting idea...we do have a lot of knowledgeable members and it would be a great way to get the proper information out there. What does John think of it?

    Hi Jo-Anna,

It's actually the goal. This community is great, and by profiling some of our experts, and also, some frog owners, we could spread the word and create a buzz on the net. I really think we have it all here.

I've spoken to John a few times during the past few weeks, about different social strategies, and for SEO, and he seems open to it. Now we need to get the members into it... So far, the response overall has been great.

Having people like John and Kurt, but so many other references here, should not be a secret!

I agree, Eric. I think we should definitely go for it. It would also be a great way to let other members know who they can turn to for advice in specific areas, old and new members alike. Great idea!

    Lol-gee, thanks Ebony!! Pttthhhpptttt!!!

Honestly, I think John or Kurt should be first. They are the ones that got this whole Forum going in the first place and are able to give awesome advice in multiple areas. But I would definitely be willing to participate. What exactly is this going to entail in terms of info etc.? And a photo...is that really necessary??!!

Why not write up an interview to publish?

Interviews on Facebook must be written as a note, and notes are not the most popular activity on Facebook. But if you are willing to be interviewed, I would be very happy to do one, no pictures, just the interview...

Well, the soon to be named Facebook Profil of a member will start next week, with our moderator Ebony. If anyone else wants to follow, now is the time to say so!

Interesting idea.. Let me know when you start interviewing people.. I'd like to see the faces of the people that go with the name.. I meet all sorts of people at the shows and only some of the people tell me they are on the forums. It's nice to put the face with the name. Sound like fun. But I agree that Kurt and John should be the people that start..

John and Kurt were approached, of course. And they preferred passing their turn. So here we are... Mike, you could also be someone people would like to see and read about. I know I would.

Listen all, this was supposed to be a fun project. If people need convincing, and this becomes harder than my daytime job, I have no problem putting an X on the idea, with the mention: Failed.

If no one wants to come forward, then let's agree to toss this one aside!
